Ep. 1 – Dr. Stephanie Wu…Dean, Researcher, Mentor

Dr. Stephanie Wu also mentions her mentor Nancy Parsley, the former Dean of the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and current provost, as one of her mentors. Dr. Wu expresses admiration for Nancy Parsley and describes her wonderful experience working with her. She highlights how Nancy Parsley engages in discussions rather than simply providing answers, allowing students to learn and think from different perspectives. Dr. Wu highlights the value of having a mentor like Nancy Parsley, particularly in an administrative role where considering the bigger picture is crucial.

Furthermore, Dr. Wu expresses gratitude towards other mentors, including Dr. Stern and Dr. Durner, who were attendings during her residency program. She credits their mentorship for teaching her the necessary skills and enabling her to perform complex procedures such as ankle fractures and lateral ankle stabilizations. Dr. Wu acknowledges that without the guidance and mentorship of these colleagues, she would not have achieved these accomplishments.
